What is today’s viewer experience doing to our heads? Diving down TikTok rabbit holes, binge-watching hours of YouTube and Netflix, streaming big-budget movies on small phone screens, and passively consuming music on an algorithmic “mood” playlist. Being a “viewer” today is all-encompassing yet fragmented, immersive and interactive yet at other times passive, and perhaps, overwhelming. The viewer experience is fundamentally changing, and it’s rapidly transforming our relationship to art, attention, and ourselves.
