The Madonna-Whore dichotomy forces women to be either/or – either a sexually innocent “good” woman who’s above sinful desires, or a promiscuous “bad” woman who’s desired but not respected. This age-old divide is still as present as ever – in our cultural messaging, fictions and our minds.
