Bugonia, the new Oscar contender from director Yorgos Lanthimos starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, is simultaneously out of this world and very of our world. Effortlessly shifting between hilarious and horrifying, the film constantly keeps you guessing, and uses its zany story to raise some complex questions around our place in the world (and the cosmos) and if we can really save each other or even ourselves.
