Taylor Swift and boyfriend of six years Joe Alwyn seemed like they were going to be Forever and Always, but it looks like in the end he’s not The 1.
Some fans had noticed that Taylor was looking very friendly with ex Harry Styles at this year’s GRAMMY Awards, leaving some to wonder if she and Joe were already on the rocks at this point (though others quickly pointed out that Joe was spotted at an afterparty with Taylor later that same night.)
Fans definitely knew something was up, though, when Joe wasn’t spotted at any Eras tour dates and she replaced Invisible String with The 1. It wasn’t too long after that that the breakup was being confirmed by sources close to the star in PEOPLE.
While some fans are upset that the seemingly ideal couple has called it quits, others have pointed out that several of her songs have highlighted that maybe their relationship wasn’t all perfect (and that this likely isn’t even the first time the pair have broken up!)
If we know anything about Taylor Swift, it’s that she can turn any heartbreak into a heart-pounding songs, so we can’t wait to hear how she turns all of this into another iconic album!
